Franke's Bakery

Franke’s is a historic Czech bakery in Montgomery, MN. They are famous for their Kolacky’s which are a sweet bun filled with fruit that melts in the mouth. The traditional three Czech flavors are poppy seed, prune, and apricot. Modern flavors include apple, raspberry and blueberry. They are awesome with real butter smeared on the bottom and can be served warm or at room temperature. A traditional Czech breakfast will have kolacky's as an accompaniment to a Czech sausage called Jitrnice, eggs and fried potatoes. Anything you purchase at Famke’s will be exceptional. It is worth the trip, and it is a 10-minute drive from the Ballinger Suite.
